HASCA is an incorporated society that was set up by North Shore home educating parents over two decades ago. We are powered by volunteers – home educators passionate about giving opportunities for our children to participate in their passions and interests.

Whether you are a seasoned home educator or you are just starting on your homeschooling journey, we would love to meet you!

These are our objectives:

  • To foster and administer the entry of the child or children of members into appropriate secondary schools and/ or other schools catering for other age groups, where appropriate, for the purposes of the children participating in sports, education and cultural events.
  • Where appropriate and in the most beneficial way practicable to encourage, conduct, and facilitate the participation of homeschooled children in sports, education, and cultural events.
  • To promote public awareness of the benefits of the children of members through being involved in sporting, educational, and cultural events.

Feel free to browse our website and get to know us:

Every week, plenty of activities are held around the North Shore for home educators to participate in.

A number of those activities are held at the North Shore YMCA which is centrally located in Akoranga Drive, 5 minutes north of the Harbour Bridge. Our Homeschool Library is housed at the North Shore YMCA, and our Thursday HASCA Hub Programme and other events and seminars are held there throughout the year too.

If you are looking for activities, our ‘Sports & Activities’ and ‘Thursday HASCA Hub Programme‘ tabs above are a good place to start.

If you are looking for some fun homeschooling events such as Athletics Day & MERC Day, click on the ‘Dates & Events’ tab.

If you are looking for some parent support seminars and workshops or just a supportive Cuppa & Chat a couple of times each term, see ‘Support & Help’. Alternatively, contact us for support.

If you are looking for support groups and networks on the North Shore or further afield, check out ‘Networking’, there are lots of people out there waiting to welcome you and offer support.

If you are interested in resources for your homeschooling check out the HASCA Homeschool Library and HASCA Scholastic Book Club.
