Edible Bo
ok Day: You really can have your book … and eat it too!

The International Edible Book Festival is an annual event usually held on or around 1st of April, which is also known as Edible Book Day. The global event has been celebrated since 2000 in various parts of the world, where “edible books” are created, displayed, and small events are held. The creations are photographed and then…consumed!

March & April 2019: Once again, both AHE and HASCA will be running Edible Book Day events for our home-schooling community: one on the North Shore and one in Mt Wellington.  We hope we can better serve the many homeschooling families Auckland-wide who wish to take part in this fun event by providing venues on both sides of the bridge! Less time travelling = more time creating.

How does Edible Book Day work?

It’s simple … CREATE!  SHOW!  SHARE!

CHOOSE A BOOK (OR SCENE FROM A BOOK) AND RECREATE IT AS FOOD!

  • Your creation could even be related to the title, a character, or the theme of the book: you choose! Get creative and have fun!
  • On the day, bring your wonderful creation and your book too (if you have it).
  • All the edible books will be displayed and then we will EAT OUR WORDS … a shared feast!
  • Please complete one registration form for each child entering an edible book creation.

This is a non-competitive event – it’s all about sharing good books, creative ideas, interesting food – and creating community.

Join in the fun and bring along your own edible book creation, or come along and check out what others have made.
