Crafty Kids 5+

Due to lack of numbers this class will not run in term 3.
We hope to offer this programme at an earlier time slot in term 4.

Crafty Kids with Rubyimage

What: This class is for home educated children aged 5-8 years (or slightly older 5-9)

When: Thursdays 2:00pm -3:00pm (commencing term 3, 30/07)

Where: North Shore YMCA, 5 Akoranga Drive, Northcote *Rendle Room

About the Class Facilitator:
Ruby is a senior homeschooled student (NCEA level 3) who loves anything creative and teaching children. Art, sewing and sports are her passions. Ruby also teaches Fine Arts on Thursdays at the HASCA Hub for students 11-13 years (1-2pm). She is also a qualified swim instructor and teaches swimming at AUT Millennium – some of you will know Ruby from there! (:

About the Course:
Students aged 5-8 years approx. will meet each week for a fun crafting club, materials will be provided. Slightly older students may be interested too (see craft list).

Term 3: In term three we will enjoy creating some pretty hair-clips, friendship bracelets, bead-melt fridge magnets, origami & paper crafts, woollen pom-poms, simple hand sewing projects, and other fun items. (The children will be given an idea of the craft planned for the following week – just in case they have anything special at home which they’d like to bring along to add to their project.) Parents do not have to remain in the class as Ruby will have an assistant on hand. #

These classes have a relaxed atmosphere, but children will need to be well behaved and use their best “inside voices” …and bring awesome “listening ears” as some weeks we may use glue guns. (: We will have lots and lots of fun crafting together!

Fees: $54 per student (non members), or $49 per student for 2020-HASCA members, includes materials

** a minimum of 7-8 students are needed for this class to proceed **

Thursday HUB Enquiries:
Many classes and activities run at the HASCA Hub on Thursdays, more info at www.hascaNZ.org, or email nina.hascahub@gmail.com.

# Please note that the HASCA Hub is based at the North Shore YMCA where the policy is that all children under 14 years must have a “go to parent” / adult remaining on site.

HASCA does not directly run this class, however we support Ruby and her teaching; we know from experience she is a gifted teacher, patient and caring, and children love her classes.
