Art – Primary Yr1-6

Primary Art with Kate Dunn

Learning together through Art …

In 2019 we will be learning about 20th century art. In term one we will start with post-impressionism, then go on to learn about expressionism, art nouveau, futurism, and minimalism. We’ll be learning about artists like Cezanne, Munsch, Klimt, Balla, Mondrian, and Kandinsky. We’ll be working in all different mediums, including paint, pastel, pen and pencil, and many others. Each week we will learn about a different art period or artist for ten to fifteen minutes, then we will enjoy recreating and using similar techniques and styles as those we have learned about.

These art classes have a relaxed atmosphere, with conversation and lots of fun together, as well as some great learning going on. Parents are welcome to either stay to help or leave their children.

Kate’s art class runs weekly out of the North Shore YMCA to coincide with other HASCA and homeschool activities which happen there each week! (See ‘What’s On?!’ )

Kate is a wonderful teacher and an excellent communicator. Be encouraged to try her classes – your children will thoroughly enjoy them!
